I shared my research on Niguel Cheese, in an open state of mind, as I still do today for other researchers on the internet. I carried out several of Niguel's experiences while keeping an open mind and I still consider today that I have a lot to learn and you must always give the runner a chance.
Jagau
Jagau, I am in the same state of mind.
Let's look diligently into Nigel's ideas, but also be careful when something appears irrational, or when terminology and symbology have morphed to prove a fruitless concept.
I knew several brilliant scientist/engineers that would lapse occasionally into illogical ideas. That was part of their process of discovery. At times they would introduce complex game rules to bring what they thought was humor into their presentations. Sometimes a brilliant person can get carried away and lose his audience with hyperboli, profanity, pride, beligerance.
Experimenters should not discount that the path to invention is paved with thin ice at times. Give others a chance to express themselves, and correct themselves, before reproof or rebuke. We should ask questions to clarify what we think we understood.
We should:
- Listen carefully.
- Use reason.
- Understand terminology.
- Don't jump to conclusions.
- Don't believe everything presented.
- Laugh at our mistakes.
- Be humble.
- Reject bigotry.
- Give others the benefit of doubt.
I appreciate that you openly share your experiments and present new ideas for the forum to investigate.
