Hello,

I'm joining the club of the GLED replications using a circuit designed by Chris, all credits for the circuit goes to him.

Also I have one of the very nice GLED PCBs made by him so I want to tank him for giving me this opportunity, it's a intriguing and very unifying project and I think it's a lot to learn in this project (especially related to Melnichenko and Akula's devices).

This will be my secondary project, the first priority remains the ZPM enhancing phase project.

I've build two devices (link to larger image here):

One is made using a test-board and wired circuit, it's using a core from a Philips AT2076/80 fly-back transformer, the electronic schema is identical to the one designed by Chris but the layout of the board is a bit changed to accommodate the placement of the core on the board.

For future references I'm gonna name it GLED-Beta.

I've build it while waiting for the shipment containing the GLED PCB from Chris and I'm gonna use it as a testing platform where I can easily change components and test the behavior and also to see how that fly-back transformer core behaves (as it's used in one of Akula's devices).

So this is GLED-Beta (link to larger image here):

The coils are built using 0.6 mm copper wire (link to larger image here):

For later references I'm adding the characteristics of the coils here as I measured them with my LCR.

For the smaller coil (link to larger image here):

For the bigger coil (link to larger image here):

And this is GLED, it's using the very nice PCB made by Chris and a pot-core (link to larger image here):

For this one the coils are not built yet, I'm gonna post the characteristics here later after they're built.

For this one I intend to use some copper foils to place under and above the coils (as we all know Akula used) so I cannot start to build the coils yet until I find a source for copper coil, that's still pending.

Something which is common for the both devices: there are sockets for the integrated circuits, transistors and LEDs so they can easily be replaced/swapped without de-soldering and soldering.

Also as at GLED-Beta I noticed some different behaviors when powering it from a 9V battery or powering it from the DC source (I don't know why there are different behaviors, I need to investigate) I decided to buy two 9V rechargeable batteries and a charger for them (link to larger image here):

Something I didn't specified, the LEDs look normal but they are actually 12V LEDs, I'm not sure if it's okay.

What kind of LEDs did you guys used ?

I'll keep posting updates as I find time for experimenting and as this project is progressing.

Hey Fighter,

Thanks for sharing, Awesome!

LED's I have are only 3.0-3.4 Volts DC, but in series, gives 2x.

I hope that helps some. I don't think this is super important.

Best wishes, stay safe and well My Friends

Thanks guys. My LEDs are 12V x 2 = 24V. The reason I asked this is because when powering up GLED-Beta I found that 100 ohm resistor is becoming very hot very fast and I don't know the cause. So I was thinking maybe my 12V LEDs could be too much for the circuit. I'll continue to investigate the problem. And I'll see how GLED performs when its coils are ready, I'll see if the problem is present there too.

This is the store I bought my LEDs from:

http://tor-online.ro/produse/369-led-banda-led-power-led/374-albastre/3783-led-albastru-superluminos-alimentat-la-12v-5mm-transparent-60-blu5t-12v---set-10-bucati.html

Basically they're super-bright, 6-15V, at 12V the current is 12mA.

Some updates on this.

I finished building the coils for GLED (the one using pot core). In this one I'm also using copper foil under and above the coils.

I'm posting few photos made while building the coils (link to larger image here):

And these are the coils characteristics I measured with my LCR (link to larger image here):

The results of the tests with GLED are not okay, I'll need to try with different coil configurations.

But I have very encouraging progress with GLED-Beta.

It is able to power two LEDs for about 10 minutes, the light of the LEDs is diminishing slowly for 10 minutes until it's off.

When using only one LED it takes longer, the light of the LED is diminishing slowly until it's off after about 30 minutes.

It's for sure it's not using the energy stored initially in the capacitors to power the LEDs that long. I'm 100% sure GELD-Beta is using extra-energy gathered using ferroresonance. This is the half of the secret for all Melnichenko/Akula eternal-light devices.

What I found intriguing is the fact that GLED-Beta is working the same way with and without the smaller coil. Basically it's wotking this way with a single coil (the bigger one), connecting or disconnecting the smaller coil doesn't change anything in the behavior or duration and I don't know right now why the smaller coil doesn't seems to do anything. I'll need to investigate more.

I've made a video showing the details. Sorry, I'm not a great speaker but I don't intend to become one šŸ˜€ Also, it's a long video but it was necessary to show how GLED-Beta is functioning:
