Joule Thief (blocking oscillator)

Nowadays several circuits are used to understand blocking oscillators. The famous Joule Thief is the most popular to date for experimenters on different sites to understand the operation of a so-called blocking oscillator.
You can make a dimmable blocking oscillator with a very small 2N7000 type NMOS. Here is his circuit;

 

You have to enjoy building these basic circuits which lead to a greater understanding of oscillators. If you have other interesting circuits, don't hesitate to post them here.

The performance of the Thief joules is no longer to be redone with several serious studies demonstrating its usefulness like this one ;

CONCLUSION
It has been proved that a Simple Blocking Oscillator produces high voltage pulses gain approximately to 7 times bigger than its input voltage. The gain is caused by the inductor’s magnetic field as a response of high speed pulse of current feeds from the power source that is regulated by the resistor and transistor, respectively.

Another small circuit in the easy joule thief genre made.

When a more constant output voltage is desired, the joule thief can be given a closed-loop control.

I just want to confirm the high effciency of this kind of Joule Thief devices.

The water-based device I have is also using Joule Thief and it was running for more than one and a half year day and night with 5 LEDs providing strong light.

Also I bought and tested a more powerful device - the Emergency Light made by Eleman, a free-energy researcher from Greece. He is selling on Ebay diverse kinds of devices and using the money to fund his research.

I don't have the schematics but this is how it looks like:

On the core he is using there is a small but powerful neodymium magnet which at certain frequencies (and intensity of the light) starts ringing and it's helping with the efficiency of the device, there is a difference between using or not using that magnet:

Before sending the device to my home I tested it extensively for a few months.

The light bulb is 220V/5W LED and depending on the chosen intensity of the light the device could provide light in emergency situations for 24 to 35 hours ! Which is very impressive and extremely useful.

In the second photo near the Emergency Light there is (sent as a gift) a small energy harvester but less complex and less efficient than Jagau's Micro-Generator.
